Cherry Nut Cake


 



2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
3 egg yolks
1 cup sweet milk
2 cups sifted flour
3 tsp baking powder
3 egg whites
1 cup chopped cherries
1 cup blanched and chopped nuts
 

Cream sugar with butter, add egg yolks and milk.   Stir in dry ingredients, then beaten egg whites.  Add cherries and nuts.  Bake in small times (350 degrees, time depends on pan size).   Ice with vanilla icing.
