Estimated Time: 1-1/2 to 2 hours

Pattern: Click here for pattern

Preparation: On a window (during daylight) or on a light box, using a pencil, trace the pattern onto a 5" X 10.5" piece of fabric.  (When tracing the words, you do not need to add the "dots" on the ends of the letters).  Draw over the words ONLY with a black marker (test the marker on a piece of scrap fabric).  You do not need to use the marker over the dots that are bordering the words, they are there as a guide for sewing.

Optional: Add a piece of warm and natural fabric to the back.  Using safety pins, pin your piece of fabric to a patterned piece of fabric and warm and natural (if necessary).  Using three strands of DMC thread for the hand work, sew through the two dots that are close together, and the single dot is for a bead; sewing the border continuously through the two dots and the "bead" dot.

The beehive and bees are from Michaels Arts & Crafts (sold individually). Glue the beehive and bees (fast drying Alene's glue works well). Sew small flower buttons, and using a green marker draw the flower stems (test marker on scrap fabric). Tear two small pieces for the tabs, to save time they were attached using safety pins.

Note: All the fabric was torn to give the frayed look.

Activity: While they were doing the handiwork, I had the talk given by President Hinckley playing.

Thanks for sharing this. It is very cute and I am going to have to try it. I have a Daughter in college and it would sure hit the spot for a small gift for her. Thanks again ! :P

Just wondering where you got the 9 B's from. I thought there were only 6. I couldn't find any 9 b's anywhere on LDS.org

The other 3 "B's" are from a book Pres. Hinckley wrote following his talk. It's called "Way to Be".

I did this years ago with only the 6 B's. I love the 9 B's. I love the combination of printed fabric and color bordering as well. I was looking for my Activity Day girls but now I'm thinking this may be this year's Christmas gifts to my co-workers. Thanks for sharing.
