1. Primary 5 Lesson Cards (Handout Idea)
2. Brink a small snack bag with a handful of alphabet pasta for each child in your class. Give each child a piece of cardstock or a small paper plate and some elmers glue. Write a small sentence on the board from the lesson. Have them set letter-by-letter to see how tedious it must have been to prepare the Book of Mormon for printing. Tell them that they only did one sentence. How many sentences are in the Book of Mormon? :)
3. Video Clip - Family Home Evening Video Supplement, "Flood the Earth with the Book of Mormon," 5:50 min. (Video Clip #2)
4. CRAFT IDEA - You could let each child make their own scriptures (to represent the Book of Mormon) similar to these pictures:

For each set of scriptures, you'd need: red ribbon, two mini chocolate candy bars (like Hershey treasures or something similar), a square piece of cardstock to place scriptures on (see picture), scotch tape and strip of paper (for the pages). You could print a scripture on the paper or have the children use a pencil and write, "The Book of Mormon is the Word of God."

6. As an activity to help the children understand how much time setting the type for the printing was, I made small booklets out of tan colored cardstock, and brought several stamp sets. I had the children choose a favorite scripture, and stamp it letter by letter into their books. it ending up being a lot of fun! (Idea by Samantha Elmore / ga04302009)
