Me and My Family

I have four (darling) children, two girls and two boys.  I LOVE being a mom and the challenges and joys it presents.  I am continually challenged and blessed in my calling as a mother.  I am married to an awesome man who supports me in all I do.  He is a true blessing in my life and yours!  Without him, SugarDoodle would not exist.  He is the technical service representative and the "I don't know why this isn't working...can you please fix it?" man.

I enjoy cooking, digital scrapbooking, working on this site and my family website.  I also enjoy doing family history and reading.  Actually, I love to read but it's not something I allow myself very often.  If I find a good book, which isn't hard to do, I want to read the whole thing straight through without stopping.  Many times when I was in high school I would read a book all night long and when finished would get ready to go to school.  So, unless I'm on vacation or going on a long plane ride, I tend to read small, short books.

I normally don't care for ice cream, but I do like Cookies and Cream or any flavor sherbet.

I would have to say my favorite TV show would probably be Extreme Home Makeover.

Favorite cookie - Hmmm....It would probably be Samoa's (Girl Scout Cookie).  Good thing they only come around once a year.  Love 'em.

Music - I am constantly listening to some kind of music.  I especially LOVE Christmas music!  I started teaching piano lessons when I was 14 years old.  I enjoy playing the hymns and making my own piano versions of my favorites.

Least favorite thing to do - Hands down...I would have to say mating socks.  I can do load after load after load of laundry but I cannot mate the socks as they come out.  I throw them in a basket and mate them as often as I "have" to.  I've been amazed at the many tips you have all provided to make this daunting task managable.  Your tips are wonderful and have been very helpful, but it still remains my least favorite thing to do. : )

I am currently serving in my ward as the Home, Family and Personal Enrichment Relief Society Committee Leader?  I'm not sure what I'm called now that they've changed the name.  : )  Let's just say I serve in the Relief Society.

I served a mission in Barcelona, Spain.

I LOVE to go on walks.

Pet Peeves - Solicitors, pop-ups on the computer, people who don't follow through on commitments.

Could you please tell me what the cute font is that you use for the headers on your blog? The one for the word "Day" under your family picture?

I enjoy your blog - so many others I know. Thank you for it!

It's all about Sugardoodle. Undoubtedly whenever I need a quick way to enhance a lesson or get ideas for some upcoming activity, I always find something on Sugardoodle. Everyone I know has found something they needed on this site.

You truly are amazing--to be a mother of 4 little ones and have such an amazing, resourceful site to help serve and enhance the lives of so many within our religion.

What a blessing you are. Thank you for your selfless love and service in keeping this site so awesome!

Keep it up. We all love you.

don't know if you have already had this suggested but I safety pin my socks before they go in the hamper as soon as they come off our feet. My husband does his as well and I do the kids and trying to teach them to do it on their own. I love it! Then you just throw them in the drawer.

Hey Melanie this is Jeni Roberts. I did not know this was your web site until Gretchen Sample pointed it out. Wow! You do a great job. I know you liked doing this before your mission. It is awesome. Your family is so cute. I hope you're doing good and just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your website.

I love your scripture/prayer reminder cards-the ones with the blue border but I was wondering if you could add a closing prayer and a theme? I was so proud that I figured out how to add a text box and make one for closing prayer until I realized the border says opening prayer. I have no clue how to change that.

Thanks for all you do!

That is correct, or at least not on a regular schedule. The outline reads, "Starting January 2010, there will be no class presentations. However, ?occasionally you [the Primary presidency] may invite teachers and their classes to help you with parts of the gospel instruction?. (2010 Outline for Sharing Time, inside front cover)

According to the 2010 sharing time outline, are we no longer assigning classes to do sharing times?
