Primary 2019-Come Follow Me- Free Printables - Binder Covers

Yes, I know. Binders are out. Digital is in. But guess what? I’m a binder gal. And I’m guessing some of you are too. So if any of you or your teachers are kindred spirits with me, than you will want these Binder Covers, along with all of the goodness that I have added to go inside the binders. First up, Letterhead. You can use this to write a letter to your teachers, outlining procedures and expectations. When I have been a Primary Teacher, this was SO valuable to help me know what our goal was as a primary, and little things that I should be in the know on.
Next is a substitute list. Need I say more? Subs? Lifesavers? Same thing.
And last, I have included a Lesson Outline. SOOO nice when last minute subs are called in.
All of these items are editable in Adobe Reader! Yay!

Primary 2019-Come Follow Me- Free Printables

I LOVE these little extra printables. But my favorite FAVORITE would have to be the “Welcome to Primary” postcard. Guys. Listen. Want to make the kiddos in your primary feel so SO cool and special? Send them something in the mail! Seriously. Kids LOVE it! My boys go bananas in pajamas when something comes for them. This is also an awesome way to get the word out about upcoming time changes, and to prepare kids for who their new teachers will be.
The presidency contact card would go awesome in the front cover of your binders, or to give to your teachers when meeting with them for the first time.

Primary 2019 Free Printables - Newsletters

Now that church is only 2 hours, and opening / closing exercises limited to 5 minutes, I really wanted to create a way to highlight kids, as well as send out pertinent information. I made this newsletter to fit that need. There are 2 options here. One is already filled out with headers, as well as information boxes for Opening / Closing exercises.  Oh, and the study outline. Yeah, it’s awesome. But if it’s not your jam, than I have this blank one for you that you can edit yourself to your hearts desire. Both of these are editable in Adobe Reader.

January Come Follow Me Printable Lesson Helps for Young Women

Hi friends,
This month’s theme for the Come Follow Me curriculum is The Godhead.  I LOVE teaching and learning about these things.  There are SO many simple truths that come from these lessons!  There have been countless times in my life where the knowledge that “I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father, who loves me” has brought me so much comfort and peace, and I know our Young Women desperately need this knowledge as well.

January Come Follow Me Young Women I LOVE all of these kits, and they are now available in a Bundled Pack! All FIVE lessons bundled into a discounted price!  You can find the Bundled Pack here.
Here are a few highlights from each of the printable lesson kits for this month.

January Come Follow Me – Why is Jesus Christ important in my life? – FREE printable

Hi friends,
I wanted to share with you this BEAUTIFUL printable that I have created for the January Come Follow Me lesson, “Why is Jesus Christ important in my life?”. I made this printable last year, but decided to update it will the testimonies from 2016 October General Conference.  And decided to give it to all of you for FREE! Download it here.
Out of all of the printables that I have created for the Come Follow Me curriculum, this printable had the strongest spiritual impact on me personally.  It has been so humbling to read the simple but profound testimonies of the leaders of His church.  It has brought a sense of purpose, direction and peace in my life as I have read and re-read these testimonies, and I hope you and the young women you teach can have a similar experience.

ASK – Acquire Spiritual Knowledge – 2017 LDS Mutual Theme

2017 LDS Mutual Theme

Hi friends,
I wanted to share with you this AWESOME printable kit that can help with introducing the 2017 LDS Mutual theme.  The theme this year comes from James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

I believe this theme is TRULY so inspired! There are so many different aspects of this profound and simple message.  As I thought about what to design to go along with this theme, the quote from Sister Julie B. Beck kept coming to mind, “The ability to qualify for, receive, and act on personal revelation is the single most important skill that can be acquired in this life.” I absolutely LOVE this quote, and think that it ties in PERFECTLY with the theme for this year. I decided to create this kit based on this quote, tying in the acronym, “ASK = Acquire Spiritual Knowledge,” and using a light bulb to represent knowledge.

The miracle of technology has absolutely changed the way we ask questions, and how we receive answers.  Most of the time, if we have a question, the answer can be easily found at our fingertips via the internet.  But spiritual questions cannot be asked or found answered the same manner.  These questions have to be asked in faith, and received by personal revelation.

You can use the theme of “ASK – Acquire Spiritual Knowledge” in SO many ways.  I like the idea of introducing the theme at the beginning of the year, and then enforcing the theme throughout the year with special firesides or 5th Sunday Lessons.  This way, you can focus on and highlight different aspects of Acquiring Spiritual Knowledge. (Prayer, Faith, Scripture Study, Temple Attendance, journaling to name a few). I created a few printables quotes that coordinate perfectly and can be used throughout the year as handouts, or can be used as decoration in your YW rooms.

“Pray, He is there. Speak, He is listening.” – I LOVE this line from “A Child’s Prayer” and  has been a great source of comfort during so many different times in my life.  I think this quote PERFECTLY embodies what it means to Ask of God, Ask in Faith.

“Believe, Nothing Wavering” – This quote comes from the second verse of the theme for the year, and it has profound meaning in so few words.

“Fourth Floor, Last Door” –  I think this was my FAVORITE quote from last General Conference!  It comes from Elder Uchtdorf’s talk from Women’s Session.  This quote hit home for me, and knew that I needed to have this quote included in this kit.

Each of us has either had very personal experiences with these quotes, or know someone who does.  Our youth NEED to hear these experiences.  Where appropriate, SHARE them!  Invite others to share them with your youth!  I believe the more that our youth hear DIFFERENT ways that others have Acquired Spritual Knowledge and subsequently how they have received personal revelation, the more they will be able to recognize how the spirit speaks to them in their own lives.

Along with the quotes, this kit comes with LOADS of additional coordinating printables to help enforce the theme including a Banner, YW Values Posters, YW Theme Poster, Gift Tags, Refreshment Toppers, Food Tent Labels, Treat Bag Toppers and SO MUCH MORE!  You can find this printable kit here.

I have LOVED creating this kit for you, and hope that it helps inspire you to ASK – Acquire Spiritual Knowledge.

Heart,
Melanie B

LDS Primary Teaching Helps – FREE Lesson Review Worksheet

2017 LDS Primary - Lesoon ReviewHi friends,
I have been fortunate to be called into primary for the last several years, (presidency & teaching) and I have LOVED it!  There are several things that I have loved about working in primary, but one of the things that has been the BEST is being able to be in primary with my oldest son.  I love being able to see first hand what he is learning.  It is also great to be able to come home and talk about what we learned together.
We moved into a new ward this past summer, so I was out of primary for a short while.  During that time, I would ask my son how primary was and what he learned, and I’d get crickets.  Or one word answers.  I knew he was enjoying primary. I knew he was learning.  But I couldn’t seem to get him to talk about it…unless he brought home a handout or coloring page that showed what his lesson was about.  Then I could ask him SPECIFIC questions about what his lesson was about. For example, he would bring home a paper that he colored that said, “I am happy when I serve others.” From this, I could ask, “I see that you talked about serving others. What are some ways you can serve others?”  And what do you know, he would open up and tell me all about what he learned about serving others, along with lots of other little details about primary.
Shortly after moving into the new ward, I was called to teach the best 6 year-olds ever! When I began teaching, I wanted to be able to send home a handout or coloring page or something so that parents could use as a conversation starter with their children.  But I found that not every lesson lend itself to handouts, and often times, the coloring pages would be left in primary.  So I decided to create this printable LESSON REVIEW to email to parents each week after church. It has been a great resource for our class, so I thought I would share it with all of you!

Primary2017-LessonReviewListing-02This worksheet can be filled out a few different ways.  You can hand write the information in.  But if that doesn’t sound so enticing, I have made these worksheets editable!  If you have adobe reader, just open the files, click in the boxes to add text and type away!  If that seems to intimidating, you can also upload the file to www.pdfescape.com and add text there.  Then, save and email to the parents.  Or, print and take to each home.  If you had a child not attend that day, you could print and take to the home to let them know they were missed.

The worksheet has 5 components1- Fill in class name (ex. CTR 5, Valiant 11, etc.)
2- Fill out the date, lesson name and things your class is working on (ex. Articles of Faith, reverence, kindness in class, etc.)
3- Use this area to summarize your lesson and share activities or games you played.
4- Use this area to share what you challenged the children to do during the week.
5- This area can be used to give parents some talking points to use with their children. Or if you want to make a sheet for each child, you could write something that the child said or did during class.  As a parent, I love hearing what my kid talks about when I’m not around:)  You could also use this area to share a simple testimony.

I have created 3 different sheets.  1 for CTR classes, 1 for Valiant classes, and 1 for Sharing Time.  I hope you find these Lesson Review Worksheets helpful for you in your classes.
