Primary 2019-Come Follow Me- Free Printables - Binder Covers

Yes, I know. Binders are out. Digital is in. But guess what? I’m a binder gal. And I’m guessing some of you are too. So if any of you or your teachers are kindred spirits with me, than you will want these Binder Covers, along with all of the goodness that I have added to go inside the binders. First up, Letterhead. You can use this to write a letter to your teachers, outlining procedures and expectations. When I have been a Primary Teacher, this was SO valuable to help me know what our goal was as a primary, and little things that I should be in the know on.
Next is a substitute list. Need I say more? Subs? Lifesavers? Same thing.
And last, I have included a Lesson Outline. SOOO nice when last minute subs are called in.
All of these items are editable in Adobe Reader! Yay!

Primary 2019-Come Follow Me- Free Printables

I LOVE these little extra printables. But my favorite FAVORITE would have to be the “Welcome to Primary” postcard. Guys. Listen. Want to make the kiddos in your primary feel so SO cool and special? Send them something in the mail! Seriously. Kids LOVE it! My boys go bananas in pajamas when something comes for them. This is also an awesome way to get the word out about upcoming time changes, and to prepare kids for who their new teachers will be.
The presidency contact card would go awesome in the front cover of your binders, or to give to your teachers when meeting with them for the first time.

Primary 2019 Free Printables - Newsletters

Now that church is only 2 hours, and opening / closing exercises limited to 5 minutes, I really wanted to create a way to highlight kids, as well as send out pertinent information. I made this newsletter to fit that need. There are 2 options here. One is already filled out with headers, as well as information boxes for Opening / Closing exercises.  Oh, and the study outline. Yeah, it’s awesome. But if it’s not your jam, than I have this blank one for you that you can edit yourself to your hearts desire. Both of these are editable in Adobe Reader.

Teaching Teens about the Priesthood and Priesthood Keys

The ‘Come Follow Me’ lessons in June focus on helping teens understand the Priesthood and Priesthood Keys. This can be a tricky topic to teach because it is a huge area and it’s hard to find ways to break it down into small, weekly lessons.

In this video, I share a few of my favorite object lessons that teach about keys and about the Priesthood. Hopefully it will help you stimulate great discussions and find ways to help the kids in your class understand and relate to this core principle of the gospel.

Teaching Teens About Personal Revelation

Most teens (and many adults) struggle with understanding personal revelation. It’s one of those tricky topics that can actually make us feel inadequate and disconnected from our Father in Heaven, rather than closer. This teaching tip focuses on helping teens understand what the Holy Ghost prompts us to do/become…rather than just how it feels.

[embedyt]https://youtu.be/llsqGVABqDk[/embedyt]

You can find the links to the scriptures I mention below:

Galatians 5:22 – The Fruit of the Spirit…

D&C 11:12 – Trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good…

Mosiah 3:19 – For the natural man is an enemy to God…

Moroni 7:16 – Everything which inviteth to do good and to persuade you to believe…

The quote about fleeting thought is from President Eyring’s April 2016 Conference Address, Trust in That Spirit Which Leadeth to Do Good. It’s a beautiful address and you should hear every word of it! Here’s the link to the full talk. The quote I refer to is listed below.

“The Lord said, “And now, verily, verily, I say unto thee, put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good—yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit” (D&C 11:12).

You may have received that blessing tonight. For instance, a name or a face of someone in need may have come to your mind during this meeting. It could have been only a fleeting thought, but because of what you heard tonight, you will pray about it, trusting that God will lead you to do the good He wants for them. As such prayers become a pattern in your life, you and others will be changed for the better.”

MeckMom’s Tips for better Gospel Doctrine Teaching

Gospel Doctrine is one of the most intimidating callings out there. I was the gospel doctrine teacher in my ward for over 5 years and have learned a ton about how to study and teach the scriptures. This week’s teaching tip focuses on how to tackle this amazing calling (or any other teaching calling) each week without stressing yourself out.

January Come Follow Me Printable Lesson Helps for Young Women

Hi friends,
This month’s theme for the Come Follow Me curriculum is The Godhead.  I LOVE teaching and learning about these things.  There are SO many simple truths that come from these lessons!  There have been countless times in my life where the knowledge that “I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father, who loves me” has brought me so much comfort and peace, and I know our Young Women desperately need this knowledge as well.

January Come Follow Me Young Women I LOVE all of these kits, and they are now available in a Bundled Pack! All FIVE lessons bundled into a discounted price!  You can find the Bundled Pack here.
Here are a few highlights from each of the printable lesson kits for this month.

MeckMom’s Teaching Tips: Easy Individual Worth & Repentance Object Lesson

Repentance can be a tricky subject when teaching teens. Often our attempts to teach the commandments can lead to feelings of guilt and inadequacy. Teaching kids to see themselves the way their Father in Heaven sees them can really help them understand their worth – regardless of where they are in the repentance process.

Here’s a quick video that demonstrates one of my favorite easy object lessons for teaching Individual Worth.
